How focusing on climate change will affect property investment

Climate change, ESG investing and the world's changing attitude to carbon emissions are all factors which Australian property investors will need to consider in the next few years with Europe, the US and China all having taken steps around their emissions trading. It may seem that with many of us working from home we are having a smaller carbon footprint by not commuting to the office but while we are all running our own power it's not that simple. What will our new work environment look like - what are the implications of the decentralised office?

On this episode of Friends With Money, managing editor Julia Newbould is joined by Peter Esho, market analyst and co-founder of real estate investment platform Wealthi, to talk about our carbon footprint and ESG when choosing commercial, industrial and office properties to invest in and to build our homes. Are the companies supplying our timber and steel reputable? Are they offsetting their carbon footprint and minimising our domestic running costs?
